A Little Bit of Science

I bought this little habitat with our “carnival” money (our annual fund raiser for classroom extras) and the children are very excited about it. Right now it contains a praying mantis, but we are planning to add worms, pill bugs, grasshoppers and other safe little critters to observe. I’ve had this habitat before at another campus and at various times it housed a frog, turtle, and fish. The terrarium area is easy to change, clean, and convert to a small aquarium. It can be used with a vent plug or a solid plug. The tray below can be used as storage or as a small discovery (sand, macaroni, rice) center if there are times when you don’t want to use the dome. The red trays will hold the large magnifying glasses I’m ordering.
