Last night I had the opportunity to meet my new students and I am thrilled with two things: small class, and a good mix of boys to girls. I am blessed to be in a district where we still have reasonable class sizes. I have friends in other areas who are coping with the challenge of teaching 25-30 kindergartners in one class and I don’t believe for a minute that their class sizes are conducive to optimum learning.
This will be a year of changes and challenges as we implement Common Core, work with new technology, and apply new testing. I look forward to a great year with a great class!
