Donna Whyte: You Can't Teach a Class You Can't Manage
« On your mark... |
| First Week »
My room is ready for parents and children! Of course this is my "first week set up". I will move things and make adjustments as we use the room over the next few weeks.
This shows our attendance board, weather bear, magnet board, and a portion of the home center.
Home Center and my closet. I love having a walk-in closet!
Alphabet chart, helper list, books and games on the shelf to the right. Yellow shelf is playdough center. The blue chart is our word chart and is pulled out during the day.
Command central! This is where we have morning and afternoon meetings, reading lessons, music, etc. Upper right corner says "Rules, Routines, Responsibility". That's how we learn!
Art center, some storage for math manipulatives. The table to the left of the window is a stamp center.
Puzzle center and question of the day board.
Yes, my area is a little messy! Tub on top of the lego table is where they leave daily folders. Then I move the tub to the top of the file boxes on the left.
More books, "table centers" in little tubs. Cubbies.
Cubbies. Sacks are treats for tonight.
Star theme this year...did you guess? We are reaching for the stars! Cubby tags are magnetic and easily moved if there is a conflict. Empty board will have menu, calendar, important notices.
Now I just need students! :)
