Durant and Caddo Will Not Contract
Durant and Caddo are not able to get together on a contract whereby Durant furnishes Caddo its city water and the probability is that Caddo will make arrangements for its own supply of city water. Caddo has been paying a flat rate of $100 a month for the service and this city has without a doubt been taking a heavy loss on the contract. Durant’s proposition to Caddo this year was $228 for fire plugs, and fifteen cents per thousand gallons of water, with a monthly minimum of $200, making at least $428 a month that it would cost Caddo. After several conferences of committees from both of the towns, Caddo finally offered this city $200 a month, but it was declined and that is the way it stands now. Meantime, the agitation in Caddo for a Caddo water plant is going good and that action will probably be taken.
