Civic Club Report
A regular meeting of the Civic and Cemetery Club was held May 4 in the home of Mrs. R. P. Dickey with Mrs. H. I. Meadows, Mrs. W. T. Carnes, Mrs. T. B. Killingsworth, Mrs. J. H. Franks, and Mrs. Dickey as hostesses.
The president reported: made 5 trips to the cemetery and assisted the chapel committee when needed.
The Civic treasurer reported:

The school committee reported: We helped serve the junior-senior banquet and appreciate the cooperation of the club members and Mrs. Richardson in cooking the food and helping in every way they could.
Music committee had a musical number on program at the last meeting, collections reported, Main Street, north side, south side, and out of town.
Mrs. Huddleston reported that books sent to the Mrs. J. A. Dale memorial shelf in the state library were donated by Mrs. Charles C. Semple, Mrs. Raymond Hutchens, and Mrs. Joe Meadows.
Cards of thanks were read from J. J. Gecks, sponsor of the junior-senior class on behalf of himself and the junior class. A letter was read from Mr. Gecks asking help on the indebtedness of the band. The club voted to give the band $10. Mrs. Roy Riddels, a past president of the club was made an honorary member.
Mrs. Stark led an interesting program on Youth Conservation.
Mrs. Bass accompanied the Sargent Sisters in a beautiful number and Mrs. Erma Leigh Taylor in Mother Made, and That Wonderful Mother of Mine.
Hostesses served ice cream and cake to 10 members and three visitors.
