Auto Owner Sued
A suit has been filed in the district court by W. M. Rivers, a farmer living near Caddo, against W. F. Dodd of Caddo, for damage sustained when the plaintiff’s horse ran away, being scared at the defendant’s automobile. The buggy was damaged and the horse ran into a barbed wire fence and received several cuts.
The petition alleges that the muffler was open and that the car was making a great deal of noise and running at a high rate of speed, which caused the horse to become frightened.
This is the first instance of a damage suit of this nature being filed in Bryan County. The entire damages asked by the plaintiff is $150.
Note: Earlier articles state that Mr. Dodd owned a 1912 Brush Runabout.
