The Caddo Herald
August 25, 1911
As we will put out no catalogue for the ensuing school year I use The Herald as a means of giving to the public the calendar of the Caddo public schools for the year 1911-1912. Because of the unusually hot weather the opening of school has been changed from September 4th to September 18th. The calendar is as follows.
School opens September 18, 1911.
Thanksgiving holiday November 23.
Christmas holidays begin December 22, 1911.
School reopens Tuesday, January 2, 1912.
Fall term closes January 26, 1912.
Spring term opens January 30, 1912.
Holiday February 22, 1912.
School closes Friday June 1, 1912.
The cordial co-operation of all school patrons will greatly be appreciated. Last year we had at the opening exercises only two patrons. We were delighted to have them and throughout the entire year they were found to be friends of the school and to the great cause of public education.
I appeal to the patrons of the district from the sense of responsibility to children and duty to teachers, to give a better turnout this year than last.
We hope to have with us on the morning of the fourth our local pastors and others who will say something of interest to all. Will you come? Respectfully, E. O. Shaw
