At the Woodman Hall last Saturday night the Woman’s Missionary Society gave a banquet to the girls of town. About a hundred happy girls from 7 to 17 sat down to the table loaded with good things to eat. The banquet invitations were not confined to those of the Methodist church only, but all in town were invited, and if any failed to come it was their own fault.
Short, snappy, happy toasts were responded to by the guests. Rev. Naylor was toastmaster and he kept up the interest for nearly two hours. The menu was excellent. Plate dinners, ice cream, cake, and sandwiches with punch was the menu.
The girls were very grateful for the entertainment. They organized themselves into a club known as the “Loyalty Girls” and their meeting time is each Thursday night. Miss Francis Schwartz is chairman.
