The Caddo Herald
May 3, 1929
Have you heard the good news? Horace Cobb and Claude Schwartz got in the state finals at Norman last week. Russell got the pie me hear. And fate was against Adeline. Caddo Hi certainly enjoyed their speeches in assembly Tuesday and to quote Rev. Thompson, “Our hats are off to them.” Rev. Thompson gave us an inspiring talk on “The Race of Life” and used our state entries as illustrations.
Caddo Hi is sponsoring an art exhibit this week, admission is 10c to all. Mr. Van Meter tells us that paying out $6.48 in advance is like cutting eye teeth.
Here’s a good one, believe it or not, Russell is taking private dancing lessons. He also visited in the city over the week end.
Three more weeks and all will be said and done for the seniors. Rev. Thompson will deliver the sermon and Mr. Harrison the address, caps and gowns have already been ordered to, but what about programs?
Devil’s Den bound. Hurrah for the seniors of Caddo Hi School.
The seniors had two state representatives in the track meet, Horace and Claude by name; we’d like to mention that both of them placed too.
Gladys is the El Eco reporter.
Say folks, Mary Lee’s beau gave her a wrist watch for graduation. Hurrah for the celebrated Thoreau.
Hardenia is valedictorian this year. Joe Hill is salutatorian. Mabel Alice was third and Lillie Belle was fourth.
Watch out folks, Hazel’s picture will be in the Daily Oklahoman soon.
Wanda Mae was very much at leisure over the week end.
Midget is in a good humor again. Something that was wrong is righted.
Someone’s making poems about Lucille. Could it be?
Seniors are proud of their debators, Joe and Hardenia, even if they didn’t win the decision of the judges.
Here’s some news, they say that Horace was ill last Thursday.
The seniors it seems have been picnicking all week but wait until Friday the third. Meet us at Devil’s Den.
