W. M. Social at the Home of Mrs. Pace
Tuesday afternoon the Woman’s Missionary Society enjoyed a splendid meeting at the home of Mrs. R. L. Pace. There were fifty guests present. Those in the receiving line were Mesdames Hogan, Nettelton, Bonner, Richey, Cochran, Moran, D. M. Wilson, Swift and Pace.
The Pace home was decorated to remind us of Easter. Favors also were Easter remembrances.
The program: “Easter was Very Good”, Mrs. W. H. Jackson of Durant. Song: Miss Nalyor and Mrs. Shaw.
Contest of Bible questions. Spelling contest of Bible names. Bro. Naylor was the first to sit down.
Besides the local members there were several home guests who were not members and the following from Durant were present: Mesdames W. H. Johnson, V. B. Hayes, Green Thompson, Hindmand, Austin, Cross, Pendleton, Riddle, Garner, and Mrs. Hamp Willis of Kingston.
The hostess served a salad course.
We plan to have these social meetings once each three months. The Society is divided into four committees for this purpose. We enjoyed this one so much that we look eagerly forward to the next. It is a means of bringing the ladies into social contact and we feel better for it. Reporter.
