Caddo is Ready Now for Odd Fellows
Programs are out showing the order of entertainment at the I. O. O. F. Golden Jubilee to be held in Caddo May 8. A session of the grand lodge will be held, at which time the grand lodge degree will be conferred on all present past grands. The Southeastern District Association, of which former State Treasurer A. N. Leecraft is president, will hold its second quarterly meeting. There will also be a session of the Rebekah Assembly.
In addition to celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of the establishment of the order in Oklahoma, the one hundred sixth anniversary of the establishment of Oddfellowship in the world will be remembered.
William Noble, P. G. N., will respond to the address of welcome, which will be delivered by Rev. M. A. Cassidy of Caddo. Noble received the Odd Fellow degree in the Caddo lodge.
J. B. A. Robertson, former governor, will be one of the principal speakers. J. K. Wright, present grand master, also will speak.
On behalf of the Rebekahs, Mrs. A. Higgins, president of the Rebekah Assembly, will respond.
A barbecue dinner will be served to all visitors at Lions part at noon. At 2p.m. a big parade will be staged. Except when degrees are being conferred, all meetings will be open. The high school auditorium will be used for the grand lodge and degree work. The assembly will be held in the I. O. O. F. hall. More than 5,000 visitors are expected.
Advertising the Jubilee
Walter Lambert, secretary of the Southeastern District Association, I. O. O. F. of Caney, has been to Caddo several times this week and got advertising prepared for the Jubilee to be held in Caddo May 8. He is sending programs and letters to every lodge in the district, urging attendance, and is being ably aided by A. N. Leecraft, the district president.
Caddo Lodge is doing all it can to make a success of the occasion and it is aided by the Lions Club and citizens of Caddo generally. A big barbecue dinner will be served at Lions Park at 1 o’clock the day of the celebration.
