The Caddo Herald
September 22, 1922
Rev. Frank Naylor united in marriage Mr. Elbert Thompson and Miss Opal Baxter Tuesday morning at the parsonage.
This was in the nature of a runaway match, though these young people had been sweethearts for a year or more. Miss Baxter came to town Tuesday morning ostensibly to go to school. She met her sweetheart and they were married.
Mr. Thompson is the son of H. W. Thompson, manager of the Union gin; is a graduate of Caddo High School and is a hardworking young man, respected by all who know him.
The bride is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Baxter and has lived all her life in and near Caddo. She is a handsome and charming young woman, well worthy of the mate she has chosen.
They are receiving the congratulations of their many friends who wish them every happiness in life.
