The Caddo Herald
September 12, 1930
Foster Wheatly was found dead last Sunday morning in a creek near Cooper, Texas. He was about 40 years of age, had lived some years east of Caddo and was working in Dallas. He had been to Caddo on a visit and started back in his car, which was noticed near the creek all day Saturday. Indications were that he had committed suicide, being despondent on account of ill health. There was a chain around his neck and he left notes to some relatives. He was a widower, his wife having died near Caddo a few years ago.
