Jim Lassiter, aged 27, was instantly killed Saturday night when an auto in which he was riding overturned about a half mile north of Atoka. With him at the time of the accident were Floyd Wright, son of Cecil Wright, who lives east of Caddo, and Harold Ahrons, a hitch-hiker from Minneapolis, Minn. The accident was caused by the auto striking a soft place in the road. Lassiter was thrown clear of the car, but it hit him as it turned over, breaking his neck. Several of his ribs were broken and his face severely lacerated. Young Lassiter was the son of Mr. and Mrs. L. F. Lassiter who lives east of Caddo and was engaged with his father as a farmer. He was popular and well known to his neighbors and his friends of Caddo. The funeral was held Monday at the family home, conducted by Revs. Tyson and Gurley with burial in the Caddo Cemetery.
