I’m just guessing that if you own a “steel coat of mail”, you’ve been in a few arguments before! I don’t think I’ve ever read another mention of anyone having one.

Kim is Killed by Madill Sheriff
Frans J. Kim, county attorney of Marshal County, died in a hospital at Sherman Tuesday night from wounds received Monday at Madill in a dispute with Ed Long, sheriff of that county.
It seems according witnesses that Kim seriously objected to a claim that Long had presented to the commissioners and the argument waxed hot, and Kim rushed out of the room saying he would be back. Kim soon came back with a gun in his hand and a steel coat of mail over his body. Before reaching the room Long ordered him to stop, but Kim kept coming. Long shot three times, one shot went wild, one struck the leg, the third glanced from the armor into the stomach.
Mr. Kim several years ago was court reporter in Bryan County, and is well known to Caddo people.
Sheriff Long was placed under technical arrest until a preliminary hearing is held.
