Shower for Mrs. Taylor
Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Guy G. Crossett, she, Mrs. R. C. Freeny, Mrs. Laura Cassidy, and Mrs. C. C. Bilbo have a miscellaneous shower to Mrs. E. C. Taylor, a recent bride, she being the former Miss Nina Faye Blakney, now living in Dallas.
Mrs. Taylor was very surprised at the party in her honor. Games were enjoyed by some scored who attended. Many nice gifts were showered on the honoree, Mrs. Taylor.
Mr. and Mrs. Taylor are visiting her parents in Caddo this week.
Jesse Walla Qualified Paratrooper in Japan
Cpl. Jesse J. Walla qualified as a U. S. Army paratrooper April 13 in Japan, completing five jumps form an airplane while in flight at 11th Airborne Division Jump School in Sendai, Japan.
Cpl. Walla graduated in class 16, a two weeks course of ground and jump school training. During the first week a student follows a schedule of calisthenics, tumbling, mock door and the suspended harness, which shows the new recruit means of controlling his chute while in the air.
Cpl. Walla, after completing his training, is now entitled to sport the red and white patch of the parachute artillery, wear silver wings, and draw $50 monthly as jump pay.
Grider-Bardwell Wedding is Held
Announcement has been made of the marriage of Miss Irene Bardwell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. I. L. Bardwell of Caddo and Cyrus Grider of Durant, June 8, in Sherman, Texas.
Mrs. Grider is a graduate of the Caddo High School. Mr. Grider attend school in Henryetta, at present is employed in Durant. The couple will live in Durant.
Guests of the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kropp, Mr. and Mrs. Odis Bardwell, LeRoy Bardwell, J. R. Grider, Miss Nona Ann Bardwell, and Mrs. E. Armstrong.
