Caddo Citizens Protest Beer License Issuance
They appeared Monday morning in Judge Ritchey’s court to protest the issuance of a beer license in Caddo to W. G. Whatley. But before the matter came to a hearing the application was withdrawn.
These Caddo citizens felt that the town already was overdone in the matter of beer taverns, two being in operation when the amber brew was to be had.
Furthermore, they felt that the proposed place was near the community hall and churches and it seemed altogether a raw deal.
Judge Ritchey graciously did honor to those citizens who were in earnest about a decent town.
He said that if more people in the communities took it upon themselves to back up officers there would be better law enforcement in the county.
