Morris Overstreet is New Mayor of Durant
In the run-off primary held in Durant on March 28, Morris Overstreet was elected as the Mayor of Durant by a plurality of nearly 700 over D. C. Hathcox, present incumbent and who was running to succeed himself.
Morris is an old Caddo boy who was raised here and made his home here until fourteen years ago when he moved to Durant to become affiliated with Perkins Brothers store at that place as credit manager. Morris was with this firm until January of this year. While with Perkins Brothers he served a short time as the manager of the store in Caddo last fall. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Overstreet of Caddo and has made many frequent trips there to visit with his parents and ahs thus kept his many Caddo acquaintances and his many friends wish to congratulate him on his new place and wish him success in his new work. He will be installed as mayor of Durant on May 2nd.
