News of the Boys
Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Williams have received a letter from their son, Stanley, at Camp Taylor, Ky. stating that he had finished his course in the Officers’ Training Camp and would receive his commission in about two weeks and would be home then on a short furlough. His friends here will be glad to know that Stanley made good.

A letter from Mrs. June Robinson states that her husband left (presumably for France) and that she would be home in a few days. The departure of Mr. Robinson had been delayed several weeks on account of influenza at the camp in New Jersey.

Following are the Caddo boys who will leave next Tuesday for Camp Cody, new Mexico, they being among the forty-two from Bryan county called: Charley C. Pope, Caddo; Walter E. Wilson, Caddo; Newel D. Mahana, Caddo.

His folks here have received a letter from Dave Peters, who is in France with the troops. Dave is another graduate of Caddo High School, and is a young man everyone liked.

Because Caddo or Bryan County raises its quota of Liberty Bonds does not excuse the individual who has refused to do his part. Saturday is the last day of grace for you. If you can buy and don’t buy you are the worst kind of slacker and now that victory is borne upon the banner of our boys are you going to be one of whom it can be said, “he lets other people do his fighting for him- he is a slacker.”?

Well, Germany has heard the American eagle scream and felt its talons; now she wants peace.

You can’t do too much for the Red Cross. It never tires of doing things for our soldiers.

It should be no surprise if on some fine morning the Kaiser went out to sea on board an electric or motor boat, pulled alongside an American Battleship, and made an unconditional surrender to the captain.
