Bourland Ray and Bonner Petty were here from Oklahoma
City last Sunday visiting homefolks.

Misses Maud Clower
and Ann Semple came up from Durant
and spent Sunday and Monday with homefolks.
Mrs. J. A. Wood
left yesterday for Oklahoma City to visit relatives and to see the Oklahoma
State Fair.

to their home at Paul’s Valley Tuesday after visiting their brother, Tom B. Reed.
Mrs. A. Norris
returned home from a two weeks visit to relatives in Duston, where she was accompanied
home by her sister, Miss Stella Riddle.

purchased the Driver property on
Hunter Street and will move into it as soon as convenient. He has for the past
six years been on Lake Draper’s
place seven miles east of town.

Deputy Sheriff Terry
last Tuesday captured a trunk full of alcohol. So far no one has claoimed the
liquor and some will be spilled. Thanks to the watchfulness of our county and
town officers there is a scarcity of booze in Bryan County.
Jim Thompson was
in town Tuesday with cotton. He says pickers are so scarce that his community
could use 500 cotton pickers. The Herald
has advertised for a thousand pickers. Mr. Farmer, tell your paper, The Herald, how many you need.
Wednesday evening at six o’clock Mrs. H. T. Chiles gave a dinner in honor of Ralph Chiles’ tenth birthday. There were present: Spears Manning, Lawrence Nicholson, James
Boone, Thos. Ray Coffee, W. W. Boone, and the immediate family.
Hugh Maytubby,
who attended the Mid-Continent Gun Club Shoot at Tulsa last week, came out
mighty well for an amateur. He was fourth in a bunch of one hundred of the best
shots and was in the prize money on several events capturing a total of nearly
$3(?)00 in prizes.
