School District Fair-
New idea Now in Force
School District No. 34, the same being known as Postoak School, nine miles northeast of Caddo, puts on a new idea in fairs, the date being September 5th this year, this being the closing day of the summer term of school.
Many prizes are offered for all kinds of live stock, chickens and produce. Caning prizes are numerous as well as prizes for cooking.
Everybody is invited to come and stay all day and bring baskets- have a regular good old time picnic, where you will enjoy meeting your neighbors and friends.
There will be many amusements, races and contests, then there will be appropriated speeches made by visitors. You will get just the kind of entertainment that will do you good.
The Herald is glad to see this kind of entertainment given. It is exactly the proper thing. Rural school districts need just this kind of stimulation- it means much for the children who go to these schools. It means better crops next year; it means better living conditions every years. Other school district could copy this with profit.
Put the right kind of teaching in our public schools and there will no longer be the question as to “How you gonna keep ‘em down on the farm?” The trouble will be to keep them away from the farm.
