Home Coming Reunion
For 3 days. For 3 days there is going to be a grand jubilee
in Caddo, and this is an invitation to you to notify your friends to be here.
Amusements of all kinds. Three days cattle roping. Grounds are
now being put in shape and no expense will be spared to make it an even that
will go down in history.
I have been assured of the support of all the business men
of Caddo and if you have ever been to anything that was endorsed by these men
you will have no fear of the results.
So make your arrangement to come bring your Grandma and
Grandpa, for the music we are going to have will make them feel young again and
there will be plenty of room for them all to dance.

Picnic Preparations are About Complete
The big picnic to be given in Caddo August 21-23 will be one
of the best of its kind in this part of the state. Manger Boxley has taken hold
of the matter and is spending lots of money to get the grounds in shape. The
park fence is repaired. The grandstand is put up so that there will be plenty
of seating room. The baseball grounds are cleaned so that we will have one f
the best diamonds around here.
The picnic grounds proper to which no admission is charged
is also being cleaned off; the seats collected an arranged so that the people
will not stand up all the time. A new floor will be put on the pavilion where
the dances are to be held and this promises to be one of the most enjoyable
parts of the picnic.
There will be baseball games and roping contests in the afternoons
to which admission will be charged; but the remainder of the grounds will be
free and everyone is cordially invited to come and stay the entire three days.
Just tell ‘em to meet you at the Carnival grounds in Caddo
August 21, 22, 23. That’s all.

Barbecue in Plenty- Free Ice Water
Arrangements for the Big Home Coming Picnic and Celebration
for Caddo next week are complete. Besides the regular picnic features such as
shows, drink stand, curiosity shops, fortune tellers, etc. there will be the
big steam swing where old and young enjoy themselves.
The Madill Brass Band will give concerts free at stated
times. At night they will furnish music for the big dance, where you can dance
all you want.
Mr. Boxley has arranged to barbecue ten or fifteen beeves-
all that will be necessary to furnish meat for all who want it. Of course this
will be sold, but at such reasonable prices you will be glad you came.
Notwithstanding the ice famine (there was a problem at the Durant ice plant), there
will be plenty of free ice water and the stands will have plenty of ice.
The Carnival ground will have plenty of shade. There will be
parking space for cars on the grounds and plenty of shade for teams, wagons, and
buggies outside.
A good baseball game is promised for every day. Caddo’s team
has not yet been defeated and they want to keep up their record.
The big feature of the picnic to some is the Roping Contest.
This promises to be something highly exciting and attractive.

Large Crowds Here for Picnic Reunion
The big Caddo Picnic began at the Carnival grounds yesterday
with a large attendance. Everything was ready so that no delays were
experienced.
The Madill brass band is furnishing good music each day and
night. There is plenty of good shade and water.
Baseball each afternoon, 2:00. Caddo vs. Atoka
Gus Massey and
his band of 50 cowboys are here for the Hippo Stampede and roping contest. 37
entries the first day. Contest starts each day at 5:30.
Plenty of other shows and entertainments on the grounds all
the time.
Caddo merchants have offered $150 in 30 prizes for the best
corn raised in this trade territory, so there is some fine corn on display at
the grounds.
Picnic closes Saturday night.

Rain Ruins Reunion- Picnic Postponed
The floods descended and the rains came last Friday and Trudy
so that the remainder of the picnic had to be postponed.
One day of the picnic was had-Thursday. Quite a large crowd
was present and they seemed to enjoy the entertainment prepared for them.
Mr. Boxley, the
manager, had made good every promise in the way of entertainment and besides this
the citizens of Caddo made up $150 to pay for the best corn exhibits. Some
sixty samples of corn were shown and every prize paid, though not many people
go to view them because of the rain.
It was one of those slow continuous rains that came. All day
Friday it fell and Saturday renewed its effort to saturate the black earth.
Mud, mud, mud was the result.
Mr. Boxley
announces that the picnic is postponed until last week in September, due
announcement of which will be made in time.
