Large Crowd Bids Godspeed to Seventy-Five Inductees
A large crowd of loyal Bryan County citizens gathered early Sunday morning in Durant to extend their best wishes and farewell to a group of 75 boys who were leaving to be inducted into the Army; it was the second largest group to be sent from Bryan County.
Band music and singing was provided. Rev. W. N. Scholl advised the boys to take God with them.
Mothers, sisters, wives and sweethearts with tears in eyes and prayers on lips bravely bade them goodbye.
Word has since been had to the effect that all of them are safely in camp at Fort Sill.
