Buy Baby Bonds
Lots of Caddo people have forgotten about the Baby Bonds for sale at the post office and at the banks.
This is one of the means used to finance the war and to encourage thrift, and it is not only our duty to buy them in as large amounts as we can, but we should consider it a privilege to get so good an investment right at our home. There is no waiting for these. You can pay your money and get the Stamp right now.
The Thrift Stamps enable you to buy as little as 25c worth at a time so that everybody may have a part of financing the war.
We at home have the easy, though necessary, part in the war. All we have to do is to raise crops and get double prices for them; buy Liberty Bonds that pay a good interest on the safest investment in the world; buy thrift stamps and baby bonds that work while we sleep; and get good interest on the money and help the Red Cross.
Our boys who go to the front get $30 a month for drilling, for learning war methods, for exposing themselves in all kinds of weather, for baring their breast to enemy bullets, for undergoing gas attacks, for ceaseless outpost duty, braving the winds, the waves and the murderous fires.
We at home, with the easy job out to be ashamed if we don’t do everything possible to make our solider boys comfortable and safe. They will not be comfortable unless we help the Red Cross and buy bonds. They cannot be safe unless the government has the money with which to buy their guns and ammunition; the ships and their food and clothes.
No self respecting man ought to have to be urged to do these things when the young manhood of America is giving so much.
Our solider boys have gone from the comforts and safety of home to protect us at home in the possession of what we have. We ought to appreciate it enough to make every sacrifice necessary for their well being. The man who does not do it is a slacker of the most contemptible kind and his species should perish from the haunts of red-blooded and Liberty-loving men everywhere.
You can buy war stamps with the money that you waste on unnecessary things. And when you have bought them you will be better off in every way.
