Work Starts on this end of Jefferson Road
Work started Monday on the Highway at the Fish Hatchery. One camp has been established there and another will be made in Caddo near the depot this week and will work south meeting the other crew.
The contractors on this work have the equipment necessary to work well and fast. They have their own teams, tools, and crews. In the matter of employing local men and teams the contractor will use those who can stand up to the work, but the average farm team cannot keep up with the pace set, thus would hinder all the work. Perhaps all who want to will be used in hauling rock and gravel when the work is ready for it.
The road is already rough going where they are at work and in time it may be necessary to go round. The best detour is by Kenefick. But we can afford a little inconvenience if we get a good road permanently.
