Mrs. J. C. Brigance was Killed Monday
Word was received in Caddo Tuesday that Mrs. J. C. Brigance of Okmulgee was killed in an auto accident last Monday midnight. Not many details were given except that she was returning from a visit with her mother at Bennington and when she had gotten within a few miles of Okmulgee the car in which she was riding overturned and she was killed in the accident.
Mrs. Brigance was a former resident of Caddo having lived here some time and they had moved from here to Okmulgee only about four years ago. A year or so ago they had lost their baby child. She is survived by her husband J. C. Brigance, a son Valdor, and a daughter, Lorraine.
The news as a shock to the many people who knew her. She was a good woman and a mother to her children and loved by all who knew her.
The Herald joins with her many friends in Caddo in sending to the family of the deceased their many condolences.
According to later reports they were trying to pass a wagon load of hay and did not get out of the road far enough and the projecting side of the frame caught Mrs. Brigance under the chin and broke her neck. Another member of the party was injured but we did not ascertain just which one it was.
