Rappolee for County Judge
J. L. Rappolee, a well-known and capable attorney of Caddo, has authorized the News to announce his candidacy of the democratic nomination for county judge of Bryan County. Mr. Rappolee is one of the best known citizens of the county and 3 years ago made the race for this same office, at which time he was beaten only by a small plurality. He believes that because of the strength he showed in the primary at the time, and because of the number of acquaintances he has since made throughout the county, that he can win the nomination at this time. Mr. Rappolee declares he is making this race on his own merits and not on the demerits of any opponent and says that if elected he will mete out prompt and equal justice to all men alike.
J. L. Rappolee was born on his father’s farm in Livingston County Kentucky, October 31, 1866, and lived on the farm until he was 21 years old. He taught school for three years, then read law, and was admitted to the bar June 17, 1892. In October of that same year he came to Indian Territory and located at Chickasha, where he practiced law for about three years. He next moved to Atoka, where he remained for a short time and then moved to Caddo, May 23, 1895, where he has since lived and practiced law.
Mr. Rappolee has been an active democrat all his life and ever since reaching manhood has been a member of some democratic club or other, contributing his best thought and effort toward the organization and building up of the Democratic Party. Durant Daily News
Rappolee for Judge
Judge J. L. Rappolee has announced his candidacy for the office of County Judge of Bryan County, subject to the will of the democratic voters at the state primary on August 2, 1910.
Judge Rappolee has been one of Caddo’s foremost citizens for a number of years, always found in the ranks of those fighting for of the upbuilding of the town; he is progressive and always ready to help every worthy cause. Judge Rappolee has been a hard worker for the cause of democracy and he deserves reward for his untiring efforts. Three years ago in the race for county judge he was beaten by a very small margin and he feels confident that he will make a better race this year. Mr. Rappolee is a man whom we can vouch for as being fair minded and thoroughly capable to fill the position to which he aspires with justice and impartiality. He has been our neighbor and friend for several years and we feel that we would be neglecting our duty to him as a friend and neighbor should we fail at this time to say something on his behalf. We are sure that the people of the county will have no regrets hereafter if they select Judge Rappolee to fill the position as Judge of this county and we trust that the voters will give him the support at the polls next August that he so richly deserves.
