Surprise Party
Monday night, February 20th, being the sixtieth birthday anniversary of Sam W. Maytubby, Sr., the neighbors decided to give him a surprise party, so promptly at 8:30 they gathered at the residence of Mr. John L. Boland and from there went to surprise Mr. Maytubby.
Mr. Maytubby is one of our oldest and best citizens and has seen this country come up to its present fine condition.
Mr. Maytubby was presented with a box of nice cigars in honor of this occasion, Mr. Boland being master of ceremonies and Mr. Maytubby made a fitting response.
The evening was spent in singing old time songs and social converse.
Refreshments were served at a late hour and on leaving they all wished Mr. Maytubby many happy birthday anniversaries.
