I don’t know how many of you are old enough to remember cotton growing here on the prairie, but I often think of it. We drive along a pasture each day that was still a cotton field when I was a teenager. I remember my cousin chopping weeds in those long straight rows. There are still vestiges of the old gin standing in Kenefic. Some of my favorite Caddo pictures are of the tremendous cotton crops. Here is a count of bales for October, 1938.
