Remember that the free school begins Monday. There has been a heavy demand for houses to rent all this month and there are not enough. The free school will bring numbers of families here that their children might get the benefit of the school. This is the result that free school advocates anticipated. It behooves every parent now to see that their children are properly enrolled and kept in school this session.
Prof. C. P. Abbott arrived in Caddo yesterday and at once began the arrangements for the public school which begins Monday. Speaking of his departure from South McAlester, the Capital says: “Mr. C. P. Abbot left for Caddo this morning to arrange the opening of the public schools at that place next Monday. Mr. Abbot has been elected superintendent of their schools for the next school year and as this is the first term of their public school his position will involve a great deal of hard work and skillful planning just as his organizing our schools did last year.”
