Old Maids’ Convention

Thursday afternoon the Old Maids’ Association held its annual convention in the high school auditorium for the purpose of discussing “The Evils of the Modern Age”. The president called the house to order and the roll call was answered by scriptures.  Interesting articles on The Rolled Hose Evil, The Chewing Gum Craze, The Use of Cosmetics, and Profane Language were read and discussed, after which a report from the refreshment committee was heard. Upon motion made by Miss Sarah Peabody the club adjourned to meet at a later date. Among those present were: Sarah Peabody, Eugenia Sargent, Aileen Sessions, Loucille Downing, Sibyl Braudrick, Dott Smith, Luda Mae Ware, Marilee Styron.
