Grammar School Notes
Last week the 5th and 6th grades played a game of football with the score even at 16 each. The game was played at the Grammar school. The following were players on the 6th grade team: Ralph Adair, Pat Hardy, Odell Denton, Edward Propps, Clarence Smith, and Bob Freeny. Bob Freeny and Edward Propps played on the 6th grade team because they did not have a full team. The 5th grade team was composed of the following: Robert Pitchlynn, Bob Petty, R. L. Boydstun, Jessie Maytubby, B. H. Wilson, Ray Bilbo, and Richard Locke with B. C. Parker as referee. Robert Pitchlyn is the best player for the Grammar school. B. H. is fast and is good on throwing passes. R. L. Boydstun is a good blocking backfield man and Bob Petty is an excellent pass receiver. Richard Locke is an excellent center while Ray Bilbo and Jessie Maytubby look good at tackle. Another game is to be played Wednesday afternoon of this week.
We wish to thank the Civic Club for the ice they sent to the Grammar school the past week. Ice water is certainly a treat these hot days.
Mrs. Moore and Mrs. Locke are enjoying their new room cabinets. It is certainly a pleasure to have a place to put supplies.
The following program was presented in assembly Tuesday morning:
America, with Richard Locke as accompanist.
The Bear Story- Minnilee Nation
Solo, The Robin- Geraldine Dowd
Left, Right, March- Sarah Goddard
Old Black Joe- Third Grade
The Third Grade has thirty-one on roll now. Helen Baxter, Benjamin and Bennett Freeny are new pupils this week.
