W. E. Smith Dies at Home of Son Here Dec. 29th
W. E. Smith, aged 77 years, died at the home of his son, Lee Smith, in Caddo on Saturday, Dec. 29th, from the results of a prolonged illness with appendicitis and other complications.
The funeral was held on the following day, Sunday, at 3pm and was in charge of the local Baptist church, and assisted by Rev. H. P. Huffman, pastor of the local Church of the Nazarene.
Deceased was a pioneer citizen of our town and community coming to Caddo in 1902 to become a resident there. He has made his home with his son since his wife preceded him in death in 1926.
Deceased is survived by three sons and two daughters: Henry B. Smith, Neshoba, Okla., Mattie Bilton, Durant, Lee Smith, Caddo, Newt C. Smith, Durant, and Callie Allen of Durant.
We extend our sincerest sympathy to the surviving relatives.
