This is one of those little reminders that life was sometimes a struggle for our ancestors. My grandmother talked often of rationing during WWII, but I hadn’t thought about the sacrifices that were made for other wars. Note the fine and punishment listed on the form.

Every Family Should Report Flour on Hand
Bryan County citizens are required by law to make a report to the County Food Administrator of the amount of flour on hand and the number of people in the family.
The Herald in this issue publishes a blank form which may be cut out and used. The idea is to find out the amount of flour in the hands of people in the United States. If a family is in possession or more than 30 days’ supply he holds the remainder at the call of the Food Administration. Six pounds per month is the amount allowed to each individual.
Better get the report made out at once to avoid trouble.
