This is a confusing situation because the obituary is printed in 1932; I double-checked the date. Yet the cemetery list I was given ten years ago, the cemetery book at the library, and the CD I have from the Civic Club all list her date of death as 1931, which tells me that must be the date on her headstone. I did not drive out to the cemetery to look in person, but will do so the next time I’m out there taking photos.

Mrs. Lemons Dies
Mrs. Guff Lemons died last Thursday night at the home of her father, J. J. Jenkins and was buried in the Caddo cemetery Sunday afternoon, the services being conducted from the Methodist church with Rev. S. E. Henderson officiating.
Mrs. Lemons was survived by several children, had suffered a long time and was well thought of by all who knew her.
Guff and Iola are listed on the 1920 census in Caney. There are seven children listed with them.
