New Board Takes Over Town Affairs with Other New Officers
The newly elected Board of Trustees of the town of Caddo held their first meeting Tuesday night. They are A. W. Sims, Harry Parker, W. E. McIntosh, Lester Rice, and Bud Hill.
A.W. Smith was chosen chairman.
John L. Boland is town attorney.
Jess Maytubby, water clerk.
Houston Boydstun, water supt.
A.E. Boydstun is night watchman.
At this time no particular change of policy was announced, thought the board has the welfare of the town at heart and will do those things that are good for the whole town.
Always handicapped by a lack of money, the town has had to scrimp on expenditures. It probably will be after July 1 before any great bit of work can be done on the streets.
Council Stops Center Parking and the Jay Turning on Buffalo
Yesterday morning Houston Boydstun, the new marshal, water superintendent, and street commissioner, was kept quite busy stopping center parking on Buffalo street downtown. This was a dangerous practice and the council wisely put a stop to it.
Concrete monuments have been in place at the ends of the business block and car drivers are warned to drive around them and not turn in the middle of the street as heretofore.
These measures were taken to lessen the danger of traffic downtown. If now they’ll catch some of those who drive at breakneck speed downtown the danger will further be lessened and maybe some lives saved. What’s the hurry anyway?

Clean up Your Place, Town Will
Haul Away the Trash Collected
Caddo has a truck now and the board announces that this truck is to run next Thursday and haul off all trash in town it the people will put it handy in the alleys or in front of premises. This is preparatory to a week cutting campaign wherein all weeds are to be cut on streets and in alleys, but the mower cannot run if there is a lot of trash in its way.
The board is in earnest about this clean up business and will force one to keep lots clean if it is not done voluntarily so you had better do it now while it costs less. Besides, the town will look better and health will be better if the town is kept clean.
