Mixed Chorus of Caddo High School
To Compete at Stillwater Meet
Two school buses will leave next Wednesday morning for Stillwater, carrying the high school mixed chorus to sing at the state track meet as this chorus won first place in C class of the district meet last week at Durant, making it eligible to compete at the state meet.
Those who will go are Misses Mozella Harris, Almasene Parker, Zelda Katie Whitney, Georgene Sipes, Elrena Carlton, Anita Harris, Juanita McClaskey, Modeen Rogers, Margaret Sipes, Starr Cates, Pauline Welch, Mildred Jean McCreary, Rudell Sawyers, Retha Jean Decker, Lucille Adair, Shannon Cochran, Tommy Gail Williamson, Annie Ballew, Sana Mae Schaffer, Iona Dale Smith, LaVerne Seago, Dorothy Horn, and Nina Fay Crossett and the accompanist Miss Sarah Frances Goddard.
The boys include: Joe Bass, Roy Albert Riddels, Bryce Cochran, Joe Hale, Ray Murphree, Darwin Miller, Bill Semple, L. V. Mills, Kenneth McCrearey, Milton Campbell, Clarence Smith, Richard Locke, James Haddock, Billy Edwards, Jake Edwards, Ray Bilbo, L. B. Russell and R. L. Boydstun.
Mrs. Evelyn Taylor, director of the high school music has directed the chorus in the past two meets and will be in charge in their competition at the state meet.
Power to you, boys and girls and Miss Taylor, and when you have done your best, regardless of whether you win first or what, the town of Caddo will feel satisfied that you have fought a good fight.
Four other girls are also going to Stillwater accompanied by their director to compete in the state contest for home economics students. Miss Haggard, the director, will take Misses Louise Hale, Nina Fay Crossett, and Annette and Margie Sue Powell for the various phases of this competition.
