Spotted this yesterday. I’m not sure what it was about, but will backtrack through the papers and try to find out.

Thurmond Got Off Light

R. L. Thurmond, the bully who beat up Editor Veatch, was tried before Squire Watson Friday and a jury fined him $25 for his few minutes’ pleasure. With the costs added, this advocate of free love will have to pay about $100 or work on the county roads 100 days. An appeal has been made and Atoka County’s representative, J. A. Thurmond, has signed the appeal bond. Atoka Citizen
