School Growth Shown by Report Given Tuesday
Friday, October 2, brought to a close the first month of school. The enrollment has been somewhat surprising. With the people generally feeling the pinch of the depression it was thought that enrollment in school would show a decrease. Such is not the case, according to Supt. M. C. Bevens. There have been 116 enrolled in high school as compared to 113 for the first month of last year and 214 in the elementary school as compared to 199 for the same period last year. Moreover, there have been but few cases where the children could not secure books and materials. This report we are sure will be a source of gratification to the school patrons.
