Liberty Items
Well, here I am away up here in Wewoka to spend the balance of the winter. While I can’t give you the Liberty news I will have a better opportunity to watch the political farce that will seep the country this year. Yes, farce is the right word, for that is all it means to us farmers.
I notice that the present snow is estimate to be worth millions of dollars to farmers by increasing the yield. Who will benefit? We already have overproduction. It will give the speculators excuses to put prices down. Farmers need a price for his product on parity with other industry.
A trade at home move would be fine if both parties would do it, and stay with it. Merchants should buy farm produce at fair prices. A fair price for all farm products would be worth more as a prosperity-bringer than a cash prize to a few people. Rufe Bolts
Below Zero Weather Saturday Morning
Last Friday night Caddo suffered its coldest weather in many years. The lowest temperature since 1899 was had when 6 below zero was registered Saturday at 5am. Yes this is not the coldest weather Caddo has had- for Feb. 12, 1899, 15 degrees below zero was experienced here.
Sunday the weather moderated some, but Monday night another one of those things came off the North Pole pushing the mercury down to near zero with fine snow and plenty of ice.
