Manning-Gossett
A surprise was sprung on their friends by Mr. Lloyd Manning and Miss Mae Gossett by the announcement last Saturday of their secret marriage in Sherman April 6th.
Lloyd went to Calera last Saturday and brought home his bride- and they have been receiving the congratulations of their friends ever since.
Mr. Manning is one of the proprietors of the City Garage, and is the son of F. Manning, was born and raised in Caddo, and is a popular young man. The bride lived in Calera and is a handsome and accomplished young woman.
For the present they are making their home at his father’s just north of town.
Mrs. Manning is 86 Years Old
Last Tuesday Mrs. Matilda Manning took dinner with her daughter, Mrs. John Crutchfield, in Durant, the day being her 86th birthday. She will remain two weeks in Durant.
Mrs. Manning is the mother of 9 children, 4 are living: has 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was born at Doaksville, Oklahoma, of Choctaw parentage and came to Caddo when she was 13 years of age, living here since. Her husband, who has been dead thirty years, was Dr. T. J. Manning, formerly of Tennessee. She was a LeFlore before her marriage.
Mrs. Manning’s many friends here wish her many more happy years.
