I have been told by several people that I was wrong about Midway school and the one referred to in the previous article was more likely one in Bryan County. I was informed that there was a Midway school on Hat Powell Road and also one near the fish hatchery. I am always happy to make corrections and will check the census to see if I can determine where the children listed actually lived. Genealogy research is often one step forward and two steps back!
Today’s list of teachers is interesting to me since Alma Brown, hired to teach first grade before I was born, was my high school geometry teacher.

Ms. Brown lived with my grandparents while she taught school in Caddo. I met her years ago at a small reunion with my Mother and her friends.
