I don’t know of any connection this woman might have had to Caddo and I have not had any success in identifying which Scott family she belonged to since there were at least a dozen in Atoka County on the 1920 census. However, I always feel like these “mystery” deaths are not only interesting, but might be something someone has been searching for to complete their family history. So I offer it up to the internet universe in hopes that it helps someone out there. If you have any information about this young woman please contact me.

Atoka, Okla., April 15, Miss Minnie Scott was found on the Jefferson Highway, two miles south of Atoka, lying in the middle of the road with a bullet wound over the right eye Tuesday morning. A small automatic pistol was lying near by, one load having been fired.
Miss Scott has been employed by the Guarantee Abstract Company of Atoka. She left Atoka Tuesday morning saying that she was going to visit her parents who live near Tushka, five miles south of here. When found she was lying in front of her car which was headed for Atoka. Her parents said that she did not come home. She became rational for a few minutes this morning. The physicians have no hope for her recovery. The Dallas Morning News
