Throughout Caddo’s history there have been civic-minded citizens working to promote growth and commerce in the area. There are several such groups in existence today. Unfortunately it seems that some of the groups are working at cross purposes and others don’t get any support from the community at large. And the most serious underlying problem with the current group of community workers is that their average age is 50+. Many of Caddo’s strongest supporters- emotionally, physically and financially- are 65+. There aren’t that many young people stepping up to take their places.
City Hall is striving to carry on, and the downtown merchants are struggling to survive. Caddo still exists because it has a school and a loyal foundation of folks with strong family roots in the area. But even most of those are working and shopping in other towns.
It’s time for some of the younger residents of Caddo to get serious about the future of this community. Everyone should be working on a Bigger, Better Caddo!

The Bigger Caddo Club is at Work
At a called meeting of the Bigger Caddo Club the committee reported an important item in regard to bringing trade to Caddo. The Club endorsed their plans and the committee will soon make their announcement through circulars. They reported that the money had been assured for the project.
The chairman appointed another committee of H. Eichenberger, Clarence McCoy and W. Malone to continue the Trades Days for Caddo each month. This committee, at a meeting Monday, decided not to have a Trades Day in April, but are making arrangements for one each month thereafter, to be held the second Wednesday. So the people may be assured that when they make their announcement each month that there will be something doing.
The Bigger Caddo club is doing a good work to advance the business interests of Caddo, and deserves the support it is receiving. The members realize that they must “turn something up”; that they must see that there is something doing for Caddo. The larger projects could not be worked up in a week or a month, but as their plans unfold it is evident that the Bigger Caddo Club means what its name implies- that it makes Caddo a bigger and better town. Watch for announcements.
