Don’t forget that Saturday, October 3, is Heritage Day! The theme for this year is "Horses & Hitches, Overalls & Britches" to recognize the part horses and mules, farmers and cowboys have played in the lives of residents in the past as well as presently. The Buffalo Stampede 5k Run and 1 mile fun run will begin at 8am in front of the Presbyterian Church. Later there will be a parade and a full schedule of events and entertainment. Bill Proctor and his band will play and also provide opportunities for karaoke for anyone in the audience who wishes to participate. There will be food, fun, and lots of fellowship. Come join us.
Hi, It's Juanita again. Larry pointed out to me that I didn't even tell you my father's name. He was John Springer, Sr and he and his wife Della, who was a writer and columnist for many years, lived in Atoka county where the old Liberty Hill community once thrived in the early 20th century. Their younger children all attended Caddo High School, Colleen Simmons, Betty Owens, Carolyn Workman and myself. Larry commented that one reason he enjoys the Caddo museum is that it spotlights many seemingly ordinary people that keep this world turning. So long again, Juanita
