Bride Honored
Monday evening, despite the downpour of rain, nine members of the Young Peoples Missionary Society, and two visitors braved the elements and met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Barber, where a very interesting business meeting was held, after which a happy surprise was in store for a beloved member, a recent bride, Mrs. Roy Downing, nee Janice Crossett, when she was presented with a tray of dainty and pretty gifts with a heart full of love and best wishes for a happy wedded life. When the blushing bride sufficiently recovered, she in her sweet way, expressed thanks to each for their pleasant surprise, after which enjoyable refreshments were served. Those present were Misses Eugenia and Helen Sargent, Doris Maytubby, Mildred and Hilda Guthrie, Margaret Jane McGraw, Jewel Barber, Zuleika Boland, Mesdames Horace Sargent and O. R. Smith.
