I have a brief update on the cemetery: Two vandals have been arrested. Cameras have been installed at the cemetery and more lights will be installed. Repair work has begun. Perhaps now we can resume our visits to the past.
Marriages in Atoka
These are a few couples who went from Caddo to Atoka to get married. I’m always amazed by the number of people from here who got married in McAlester, Atoka, Denison, and other towns. Of course there are also accounts of people stopping on the train in Caddo, getting married, and going on to other destinations. My guess is that many were trying to avoid family squabbles about their plans!
