An ordination is to be next Sunday afternoon at three o'clock. John P. Burns will be set aside for special service as a deacon and the public is invited. Ordained Baptist ministers and deacons are invited to sit in the Presbytery. All deacons and lay members of the local Church are urged to be present. The time is 3pm.
The Baptist church enjoyed a fine fellowship meeting last Sunday evening. Songs, praise, and prayer were the order of the evening. There was no sermon, however, appropriate Bible readings were read and beautiful songs were sung and many people testified to the saving grace of God. The climax was reached after a list of 75 names of men in service was read and parents, wives, or sisters come to the altar for a special prayer for the boys in service and for world conditions. A service like this should inspire us to look up and carry on in the service of the Lord. You are invited to be in all of the services at the Friendly Little Baptist Church.
May we remind you of the hours for services. Sunday school 10 am. Everyone be at Sunday school on time. The morning service will be at the high school gym next Sunday when the Baccalaureate service will be held.
There will be ample time for all to go from the various local Sunday schools to the gym for the sermon there. Be sure to be at Sunday school. M.D. Gentry, Pastor
