Buffalo Street Paving Committee is at Work
A committee of the Retailers’ Association was at work Monday soliciting funds for the graveling of Buffalo street within the fire limits. Messrs. H.I. Meadows, Lake Brewer, and Carl Johnson were interviewing merchants and property owners to see if enough money could be secured.
They met with ready and generous response in most instances. Amounts from $50 down were subscribed. It is estimated that some $2,000 will be required to accomplish this work.
It was a good time to inquire into this matter. The all day rain Sunday had made the streets muddy again, showing the vital need of something to be done to the street.
There is not a doubt but that graveling the street will be a great benefit. In places the street is almost impassible during wet whether- and we have some very wet weather at times.
