Better Homes in America Getting Results Near Caddo
I am pleased to note much improvement and repair work for 1935, a number of garden fences and outbuildings have been repaired, and J.H. Joines has built a new fence around a farm purchased not long ago; also three rooms in his home have been papered, kitchen is papered and built-in features added and woodwork painted.
William Joines has papered two rooms and painted woodwork. Ellis Boydstun is occupying a new home just finished and painted. Amos K. Bass recently bought a place on rt. 3, and has just completed an attractive and comfortable six-room house with outbuildings, all painted.
Hatsell Powell, also on rt. 3, has added much to the value of his place by building a hog and horse proof fence around it, and erecting new gates.
Mrs. M.B. Taylor, Caddo, has built a new chicken house.
Rev. and Mrs. M.A. Cassidy purchased D.B. Mason’s home in Caddo and reconditioned it throughout. Mrs. Ora Maytubby had two rooms papered and painted, and fences fixed.
Mr. and Mrs. H.F. Bass in Caddo have improved the back yard and built an ornamental fence, painted their home and set out suitable shrubbery. Not only the family, but their hosts of friends, have enjoyed their outdoor living room, and many social affairs have been held in it during the summer. Better Homes Chairman
(I want to know two things: What is “suitable shrubbery” and who was the “Better Homes Chairman”?)
